Wehrpass grouping - KM - "21.U-Jagdflotille" - Steinwendtner

Wehrpass grouping of "Matrosenobergefreiten" who served within "21.U-Jagdflotille" (submarine search and destroy unit).

Steinwendtner was awarded the EK II (see photo) and the "Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch ,U-Bootsjagd und Sicherungsverbände"badge.

Steinwendtner served mainly "Im Mittelmeer'"(medeteranian)

On 24-9-1943 ,Steinwendtner was KIA during a service.
The accompanying letter says he was killed by a was heavily wounded by an enemy machinegun bullet and died few hours later.

They were acting against "italieinischer Verräter" (Italian traitors)!!

2) "Kriegsabzeichen für Minensuch ,U-Bootsjagd und Sicherungsverbände" citation which has been issued in "Athen" (Athens) and which has been signed by "Vizeadmiral und Kommandierende Admiral Aegaeis" Werner Lange (DKiG 8-1-1944 ,RK 28-10-1944)
