Wehrpass and 2 award-documents WH (Heer) - 44. Inf.Div. / 137. Inf.Div. - Ranftl

Wehrpass belonging to Wilhelm Ranftl who served within the Inf.Rgt.132 (as a machinegunner ie. helper) of the 44th.Inf.Div. during the attack on Poland.

In 1940 Ranftl was involved in the occupation of Belgium and France.

In 1941 Ranftl served with the Inf.Rgt.449 which was a part of the 137 Inf.Div. and went to Russia (Bialystok, Smolensk) where he got wounded ie. shot in his left leg (something that resulted in the amputation of this leg which meant the end of his military career).

He received the Verw.Abz.in Silber for his heavy first wound which resulted in the amputation. This document is dated 3-9-1941.

He was also awarded the EK II.Kl. (dated 6-8-1942) since he was still hospitalised and was finally awarded with this award. This document is signed by General der Infanterie named: Alfred Streccius who was killed in late 1944 during a air-bomb-raid of Hannover.

Both neat documents show regular wear and age, caused by having been stored in the SB for decades.

The set comes with Ranftls' recognation-paper for active service.

A nice and complete set!
