Signature "Major" Helmut Lent - Luftwaffe ace

Nice wartime signature on small card of "Oberst"(posthumously) Helmut Lent.

These kind of cards were sent to "fans" as they asked for signatures of thier "heroes".

The propaganda value of people like Lent was that high , that they were allowed to fly limited as they were used to enthuse the next generation!

It is a small newspaper style portrait of Lent with signature underneath.

Lent was one of the first to become a "Nachtjagd" ace as he served since 11-5-1941 within the Nachtjagdgeschwader 1.

Lent served on several airfields in Holland.

Lent besieged 102 enemy planes!! and was awarded the RK 30-8-1941 EL 6-6-1942 , Schw.2-8-1943 and the Brill.31-7-1944!!!!!!

Lent died of wounds as he crashed during a training on 7-10-1944.
