Niederwanger was transferred to Pz.Jäg.Abt.21 (L) and served finally within Jäger Rgt.41 (L) of the 21.Feld.Div.(L)

Niederwanger started his service in 1939 at the "Panzertruppenschule Wünsdorf " where he participated in the "Offizier-Anwärter-Lehrgang" .

Niederwanger has been involved in the invasion of Norway (Narvik) , Finland , Russia , Lappland and finally Russia.

Niederwanger has been awarded the "Erinnerungsmedalle 3-3-1938" , the "Erinnerungsmedaille 1-10-1938 , the " Medaille 5 Jahre Dienst" , the "Ostmedaille" , the EK II , the KvK II m.Schw. , the EK I and the "Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen" !!.

The Soldbuch has been slightly cut (probably for practical reasons) but this does not affect the book in any way.

Niederwanger has been in Cervia (Italy) as POW.
