Soldbuch/I.D. disk/citation grouping - WH (Heer) - 2.Pz.Div. - Schmidt

Soldbuch with citations and "Erkennungsmarke" of "R.O.B. Unteroffizier" Fritz Schmidt who served within Inf.Rgt. 583 of the 319.Inf.Div. ,Inf.Rgt.2 of the 11.Inf.Div.and Pz.Gren.Rgt.2 of the 2.Pz.Div.

1) The far from perfect Soldbuch shows few "improvements" which have most probably been done by the bearer after the war.

Schmidt has been awarded the BWB ,the "Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze" ,the "Ostmedaille" and the "Nahkampfspange in Bronze".

The EK II (must have due to his state of service) and the EK I are not to be certain of?!

Although worn and battered this is to be compensated by the "Nahkampftage" list which shows among others ,Kharkov and hard to read villages in most certain,Germany..

Schmidt served within the 2 Pz.Div. since end of September 1944 and must have participated in fightings in the Ardennes and/or Moselle area.
