Kleinheisterkamp was KIA on29-4-1945 as he tried to escape from the "Halbe Kessel" (Halbe Cauldron) and his "SPW" (Schützenpanzerwagen / armored personell carrier) was hit.
No trace of Kleinheisterkamp was ever to be found after!
