Although Bergs seemed to have been a kind of supervisor senior office worker he proved himself in many moments frontwise afterwards within especially the Jäger Rgt.17 of the 9.Luftwaffe Ffeld Div..

Bergs was awarded the "Dienstauszeichnung IV Kl." ,the "Südeten Erinnerungs Medaille" ,the KvK II m.Schw. ,the KvK I m.Schw. ,the EK II and the "Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber"!!!
