Grün participated in fightings in Russia (Kursk) and the "Angriffsschlacht auf Stalingrad" (attack battle)

Grün was awarded the "Ostmedaille" and died on 10-12-1942 at the "Hauptverbandplatz" (main dressing station) of "Feldlazarett 295"

"Feldlazarett 295" was part of the 295.Inf.Div. which was destroyed in the Stalingrad cauldron.
