Citation grouping of "Leutnant der Reserve" Gerhard Maranitsch who served within Gren.Rgt.523 of the 297.Inf.Div. and after the destruction of this division at Stalingrad ,Maranitsch served within Gren.Rgt.975 of the 367.Inf.Div.
1) BWB citation for a wound suffered at Stalingrad on 27-12-1942.
Maranitsch was "lucky" to escape the Stalingrad Cauldron due to his wound/injury on time.
2) Very attractive EK II citation which has been signed by "Oberst" (late "Generalmajor") and divisional commander Adolf Fischer (DKiG 19-1-1942,RK 4-5-1944)
Fischer was cuaght by Yugoslav partisans and executed by hanging in Belgrade on 23-10-1947.
3) Unusual "Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen in Silber" citation which has been signed by "Oberstleutnant" and regimental commander Franz Klausgraber (RK 13-3-1942)
Klausgraber died on 11-6-1944 (9 days after signing this citation) at Hauptverbandplatz1/364 Tlumac (Russia).
