Kruse was awarded the "Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 1-10-1938".

Kruse was KIA on 28-8-1941 during a "Waldgefecht bei Manrjlowa" (fightings in wood) and was buried in a "Kameradengrab" (comrades grave) in the center of Manrijlowa.
