Schmidt committed suicide on 7-8-1943 to avoid being captured by the Russians.

Nice official letter of the "Deutsches Rotes Kreuz" (DRK) which states that it is unclear, whether it is safe enough to travel to Holland due to wartime circumstances.

The letter is sent to Dr.Ahnich who seems to have lived in The Hague.

Photolot (37 x ,some double) of the gravesites of "Gefreiter" Curt Scheithe who served in a Gren.Rgt. and who was KIA on 4-1-1945 at Saarreinsberg (Bitsche) in Lorraine.

Later Scheithe was reburied at Eisenberg (Germany)


Some photos have a typed text on the back.
